Chimeneas de la fábrica Amat Hermanos

En este lugar se situaba la antigua destilería Amat Hermanos, que en 1904 se integró en la  Unión Alcoholera Española.
El nombre original aparece sobre el fuste de una de las chimeneas, inscrito en una banda que asciende en espiral.
La fábrica tenía varias chimeneas, erigidas probablemente a finales del siglo XIX.
El conjunto fabril fue derribado en los años 90 del siglo XX, quedando como único testimonio estas dos chimeneas que hoy forman parte del patrimonio industrial de la ciudad de Valencia.
 

Chimenea industrial Layana

La chimenea industrial constituye el último vestigio de la antigua fábrica de papel “Layana”, construida por Luis Layana, procedente de una familia de tradición papelera.
Se trata de una chimenea con forma helicoidal y sección octogonal, de treinta y ocho metros de altura. Consta de una base cuadrada, fuste adornado en sus esquinas por nervios que giran dando la forma helicoidal, y coronación, donde se multiplican los nervios principales.


 

Amat Hermanos company’ chimneys

This was the site of the former Amat Hermanos distillery, which in 1904 became part of the Unión Alcoholera Española.
The original name appears on the stack of one of the chimneys, inscribed in a band that  spirals upwards. 
The factory had several chimneys, probably erected in the late 19th century. 
The factory complex was demolished in the 1990s, leaving as the only testimony these two chimneys, which today form part of the industrial heritage of the city of Valencia.

Layana industrial chimney 

The industrial chimney constitutes the last vestige of the old “Layana” paper factory, built by Luis Layana, from a paper-making family.
It is a chimney with a helical shape and an octagonal section thirty-eight meters high. It consists of a square base, shaft decorated in its corners by ribs that rotate giving the helical shape and crown, where the main ribs multiply.
